ok so the blog posts from the road didn’t really happen. uploading videos and pictures, from a van, turned out to be a lot more difficult than i had hoped. anyhow heres a new short vid. ill be sharing more and more as i get them edited…

here we were at kitty hawk, everybody was scrambling to get their bikes roadworthy. everyone was discovering new issues and mechanical problems every time they’d fire their bike up. it truly was a panic and anxiety filled situation.

quick update from cannonball run

been at war with the road for over 2 weeks now. havent had access to internet, or much time to post stuff. 43 bikes in this deal, and every single one has needed major maintenance almost every day. broken rods, 30+magneto rebuilds. more bottom end apart than you can shake a stick at! lots of new friends, and one hell of a good time. ill be doing some major cannonball updates when i get home and settled in…

1914 harley frame jig

so after a few test rides and and wrapping the bike around a stout oak tree, we figured out that the frame was all bent to hell! Decker being a trooper, soaked off his cast, threw out the neck brace, and we decided to straighten her out. Dale Walksler just happened to have with him (in Kitty Hawk) a special one year only 1914 harley frame straightening jig! what a coincidence! so he said Decker could use it, but Dale had to operate the complicated device…

National Motorcycle Museum

we stopped by John Parham’s beautiful new museum in Anamosa, Iowa. what a gracious host! he opened it up for us after hours and while feeling a little under the weather. please go see it if you are ever in the area.
